Teacher Continuing Education
Teacher education has always been at the heart of what we do at Longwood—after all, we have been training individuals to become educators since 1839. Today, we are still as committed. Exemplary teacher preparation, teacher training, and continued relevant education are central for us to help you achieve your goals as a professional in the classroom.
Take that next step in your teaching career or just learn something new while continuing with your recertification—either way, we’ll help you get there. From continuing education classes to professional endorsements, summer teacher institutes, and certificates, we have a variety of opportunities that are designed to fit your busy schedule and budget.
Our short 4 week non-credit classes are offered for recertification points with 6 selections to choose from this spring. Each class is offered at a rate of $99.00, which is affordable and relevant to your professional work.
We offer 6 graduate classes to assist those who are seeking to move from provisional to full licensure status, in a 100% online format with a professional studies rate of $275.00/per credit hour ($350, out-of-state rate).
Our teacher summer institutes are experiential events for one or two weeks in length with topics ranging from literacy, Virginia history, and the Holocaust. The institutes will all be held on-site in different locations, including Longwood’s campus in Farmville, the Virginia Historical Society and the Virginia Holocaust Museum both located in Richmond.
Relevant. Affordable. Achievable.
We are excited to let you know about our new Graduate Student Monthly Payment Plan designed to help you make payments more easily in a 4-month payment plan each term. To learn about our Graduate Student Monthly Payment Plan, click to click here.
