About the courses

We know you’re busy!  Between teaching or counseling, preparing lessons, and living your life, there’s little time left for professional development.  This is why we offer the endorsement in a hybrid format which meets face-to-face once per month (always on a Saturday from 9am – 4pm).  The remainder of the coursework is online, and you’ll work with your intern mentor to complete internship requirements within your own school division.  We bring Longwood to you, building regional cohorts across Virginia.  Learn from school leaders who have worked and are working in the field today.

Our format:

Upon completion of the courses, you will be able to:

  • Participate in establishing goals and policies,
  • Direct the development of programs and coordinate implementation,
  • Manage resources effectively, and
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of educational functions.

“There are too many highlights to Longwood University’s Educational Leadership program to name just one. Through flexible classes, I received an extraordinary education from professionals working in my chosen field who ensured I had many opportunities to experience being an administrator and leader. I feel thoroughly prepared for the next professional role I step into, but since the day I began this program, I’ve been able to grow as a leader in my current role.”
